Fudgy Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies


I’m a true CHOCOHOLIC and I think my world revolves around it, because I can’t get a chocolate craving out of my head   And if some peanut butter happens to cozy itself up next to that chocolate craving, oh gosh, I’m going out of my mind.


For me, combining chocolate and peanut butter together may have been the most significant creation of all time.  They are always the perfect match, a delicious duo, a marriage made in heaven , and they’re extra-special paired in this tempting treat like what I made in my brownies.


There’s nothing like a good brownie, right? Brownies are definitely one of my favorite desserts.  Fudgy, chocolatey, and with so many different ways to dress them up ~ what’s not to love?  Making brownies are easy.  In fact, I’m able to do it with just two bowls. I whisk melted butter, melted chocolate, sugar, and eggs in one bowl; and the dry stuff in another.  After gradually adding the dry stuff to the egg mixture, I use the same dry stuff bowl to mix another ingredients required in the recipe.


I’m all about the thick fudgy dark chocolatey brownies!  Ok, nuff said, peanut butter and brownies.  Is there anything better?  The recipe includes two kinds of chocolate: melted unsweetened and cocoa powder.  You can use regular cocoa powder or dark cocoa powder.  If you’ve never used ‘dark’ – TRY IT!  It gives it such a rich and fudgy flavor, seriously you’ll cry 


The peanut butter topping is simple to make.  It’s made with peanut butter, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt.  The peanut butter mixture by itself tastes like a peanut butter cup.  And then you put it on top of fudgy brownies and you know what happens?  They blow your mind.

I made these brownies and they were so DEEEEEELICIOUS!  But it wasn’t until I stuck them in the fridge and ate them cold that I really fell in love.  Make them, chill them, eat them, and cry with joy.  A little tips from me, cut them small, because they are extremely rich, moist, chewy – and will go fast J

Ingredients:

For Brownie Base
·         ½ cup unsweetened baking chocolate, coarsely chopped
·         2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder (I love using Hershey’s Dark, but you can use either regular or dark)
·         ½ cup unsalted butter
·         ¼ cup boiling water
·         1 cup granulated sugar
·         2 eggs, chilled
·         2/3 cup all-purpose flour
·         ½ tsp vanilla extract
·         ¼ tsp salt

For the Peanut Butter Swirl


·         ½ cup smooth peanut butter
·         2 tbsp butter, melted
·         1/3 cup powdered sugar
·         ¼ tsp salt
·         ½ tsp vanilla extract

Directions:
1.       Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).  Line a 8x8 inch square pan with foil or parchment paper.  Spray with cooking spray.


2.       Place the two kind of chocolates and butter in a large, microwave safe bowl.  Heat on HIGH power for 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, until chocolate is smooth.  Stir in sugar, vanilla, salt, and water until mixture forms a thick paste.   Add egg and stir well.  Finally, add the flour and fold carefully until flour is just incorporated, taking care not to overmix.


3.       For the peanut butter swirl: stir together peanut butter, melted butter, powdered sugar, salt, and vanilla until smooth.


4.       Pour chocolate batter into prepared pan, then drop dollops of peanut butter filling on top.  Use a butter knife to gently swirl the peanut butter into the batter.  Since the peanut butter mixture is quite thick this won’t be perfect, just run your knife through it a few times and let it be.


5.       Bake for 40 to 50 minutes (depens on your oven), or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out almost clean.  Transfer to a wire rack to cool to room temperature.  For best result, refrigerate brownies a few hours or overnight before serving.



Untuk Brownies
·         ½ cup coklat masak tawar, cincang kasar
·         2 sdm coklat bubuk tawar (saya suka memakai Hershey’s Dark, tapi Anda boleh memakai yang regular)
·         ½ cup mentega tawar
·         ¼ cup air panas
·         1 cup gula pasir
·         2 butir telur, dinginkan
·         2/3 cup tepung terigu serbaguna
·         ½ sdt ekstrak vanilla
·         ¼ sdt garam


Untuk  Peanut Butter Swirl
·         ½ cup selai/mentega kacang yang halus
·         2 sdm metega tawar, lelehkan
·         1/3 cup gula halus
·         ¼ sdt garam
·         ½ sdt ekstrak vanilla


Cara:
1.       Panaskan oven dengan suhu 350 derajat F (175 derajat C).  Siapkan loyang ukuran 8x8 inch yang telah dialasi dengan kertas roti atau aluminum foil.  Olesi dengan minyak, sisihkan.
2.       Lelehkan semua coklat menggunakan microwave dengan power HIGH selama 2 menit, aduk setiap 30 detik sampai coklat licin (bisa juga dilelehkan di atas kompor dengan api kecil-sedang).  Masukkan segera gula, vanilla, garam dan air.  Aduk sampai  membentuk adonan yang kental. Diamkan sebentar hingga hangat.  Tambahkan telur satu per satu, aduk hingga bercampur  menjadi adonan yang licin dan mengilap.  Terakhir, tambahkan terigu, aduk perlahan hanya sampai terigu bercampur.
3.       Untul selai kacang: campur selai kacang, mentega leleh, gula halus, garam, dan vanilla.  Aduk sampai adonan halus.
4.       Tuang adonan coklat ke dalam loyang.  Tuang juga selai kacang di atas adonan coklat. Buat pola melingkar (atau sesuai selera) dengan menggunakan pisau mentega atau tusuk gigi pada selai kacang secara perlahan dan jaga jangan sampai selai kacang mengendap
5.       Panggang selama 40-60 menit (tergantung oven masing-masing)  dan lakukan tes tusuk.  Pemanggangan selesai jika pada tes tusuk hampir tidak ada lagi adonan yang menempel.  Biarkan dingin sebelum dipotong.  Untuk hasil terbaik, dinginkan brownies selama beberapa jam atau semalam sebelum disajikan. 

Tips:  Potong brownies dengan ukuran kecil karena brownies ini sangat kaya rasa, manis, dan lengket.
